Lab Management in Visual Studio 2010 provides an integrated development and testing platform for end-to-end virtual lab management. Lab Management enables development and quality assurance teams to work together more effectively to optimize the build process and minimize regression-testing efforts. It helps reduce costs associated with setup, teardown, and restoration of complex virtual environments to a known state for build automation, build deployment, and test execution.
No longer is Lab Management a standalone product, Lab Management now comes standard with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN, and with Microsoft Visual Studio Test Professional 2010 with MSDN. Dave Mendlen announced this decision as well as demonstrated the key capabilities of Lab Management in his keynote at VSLive! 2010 Redmond.
Lab Management functionality is now available for download. Customers of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN and Test Professional 2010 with MSDN should download the Visual Studio 2010 Lab Management Deployment Guide from MSDN Subscriber Downloads to deploy Lab Management.
